safety first

The health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities they serve is our number one priority.

// our commitment to safety

protecting our employees, customers, and the community

Through a focus on training, employee engagement, and leadership, we’re able to provide our employees with the tools and knowledge needed to ensure that safety is more than just a priority – it’s our number one value.

We view safety as the responsibility of every employee throughout the company, from our leadership team to the men and women working on the front lines. Our commitment to safety extends beyond our construction sites and the communities they impact to our office locations, homes of our employees, and everywhere in between.

Part of our process for reducing risk and fostering safe operating procedures is our S.A.F.E. program which is designed to assist employees in identifying, assessing, and preventing hazards on the job site, which in turn mitigates risk before exposure. We believe that an effective safety program not only improves employee morale, but helps to maximize productivity and reduce operating costs.

Incident reduction efforts include:
Safety training
Injury and incident data analysis and reporting
Partnering with insurance carrier loss prevention services
Developing best practices
Effective communication
Annual re-assessment of safety procedures
Stop Work Authority

Education and transparent communication are an integral part of our safety program. Every member of our team, from our executive leadership team and office administration to field supervisors and linemen, are required to complete mandatory safety training. Additional job-specific training is required for certain positions such as forklift operations, boring and drilling, etc.

Our training programs include:
Safety orientation for new employees
Weekly “Safety Huddles” on company safety topics
Industry related safety training
Manufacturer safety and product training
Partnering with vendors to create and distribute product specific safety training
Developing in-house safety training
Distributing “Safety Flashes” to educate employees on recent incidents both in-house and within the industry
Conducting annual safety training assessments within the organization
Supervisor training on “Accident Investigation” procedures to determine the root cause of incidents
